Questions to Ask About Wedding Website Expiry
Before sharing an invitation website, confirm how long the public link will work and what happens when the hosting period ends. Guests may need it after the event for photographs or thank-you messages.
Ask for specific dates
Request the start date, expiry date and renewal process in writing. “Available for a year” is ambiguous if nobody has said whether that starts at payment, delivery or the wedding. Confirm who receives reminders and who can authorise renewal.
Clarify what remains available
Ask whether images, RSVP records and custom song pages follow the same expiry period. Find out what can be downloaded before closure and which content cannot be recreated from a simple backup. Do not assume that owning a domain means every hosted service lasts indefinitely.
Plan the guest experience
If the link will close, remove it from ongoing public profiles or replace it with a simple notice where the provider supports that. Save approved assets privately before the deadline. Tell the family coordinator which links remain suitable to forward. Clear expiry expectations prevent a keepsake plan from depending on a service nobody has arranged to maintain.
