Choosing Photos for a Public Wedding Invitation Gallery
A public invitation gallery should contain photos the people pictured are comfortable sharing. Curate a small selection that tells your story and leave private family moments out unless everyone involved has agreed.
Ask before uploading
Check with the photographer about your permitted use and ask recognisable friends or relatives about public display. Be especially cautious with children's pictures and images revealing home addresses, school details or private documents. Permission to receive a photograph is not automatically permission to publish it.
Select for clarity
Choose a mix of close and wider images that remain understandable on a phone. Avoid near-duplicate shots and screenshots with message notifications. A short caption can explain the memory without naming every person or describing a private event in detail.
Review the published page
Check cropping on both portrait and landscape screens, especially faces near edges. Open the page in a logged-out browser and consider what an unfamiliar viewer could learn. Decide who will remove a photo if someone changes their mind. Keep original files privately and publish appropriately sized copies so the gallery does not delay the invitation's essential details.
