Questions to Answer Before You Request an Invitation Design

A clear invitation brief describes the event facts and the guest experience you need. It gives the designer enough direction to propose appropriate work without making them guess the family's schedule or priorities.

Supply the approved basics

List the couple's display names, host wording, events, full dates, times, venues and contact method. Mark anything unconfirmed. Do not fill an unknown field with a plausible sample date just to complete the form; it may survive into the final design.

Describe the desired experience

Explain whether guests need only a card, a video introduction, multiple map links, RSVP or travel details. Share a small number of references and say what you like about each: typography, colour, pace or illustration. Note the required languages and who will proof them.

Agree the process

Confirm outputs, review stages, timeline and who gives consolidated approval. Discuss permissions for photographs and music before they enter production. Keep one brief as the current source and record later changes against it. A good brief is not necessarily long; it is specific enough that both the family and designer can recognise when the work is complete.
