Test a Wedding Invitation QR Code Before Printing
A QR code should lead to the correct guest page when scanned from the actual printed proof. Testing only the digital artwork can miss size, contrast and destination mistakes.
Check the destination
Scan the code and inspect the address before opening it. It should lead to the public invitation or RSVP page, not an editor, expired preview or personal file-storage permission screen. Test in a browser where you are not logged into the website account.
Check the printed version
Print a sample at the intended size using the planned paper and finish where possible. Leave clear space around the code and avoid placing decorative artwork through it. Try more than one phone and ordinary room lighting. If scanning is unreliable, enlarge or simplify the code before approving the batch.
Provide another route
Print a readable short website address or a host contact beside the code for guests who cannot scan it. After printing, keep the destination working for the period guests need it. If the event changes, update the destination page and send a correction for important facts. A printed QR code is useful only while the information behind it remains current.
