Wedding Website Guest FAQs: Adaptable Answers for Indian Weddings
By Love Solutions India · Published April 1, 2026 · Updated 1 October 2026
A guest FAQ should fill information gaps rather than repeat the whole invitation. Start with the questions your relatives are actually receiving, then publish short answers based on confirmed arrangements. The templates below use placeholders: replace them with approved facts and remove questions that do not apply.
Put answers beside the decisions they support
Keep dates and venues in the event section even if you also discuss them in FAQs. Use the FAQ for practical clarification: which entrance, whether accommodation is arranged, or how a household should reply. An answer should not require guests to search another message for its meaning.
The following examples are drafting templates, not details of a real wedding. Never publish bracketed placeholders. If an arrangement is undecided, omit the promise and tell guests when an update will be available only if that update plan is agreed.
Templates for attendance and arrival
“Which events are we invited to?” — “Your invitation covers [named events]. Please follow the dates and venues shown for those events. For questions about your invitation, contact [agreed host contact].” Use a separate invitation approach where guest groups differ; this wording does not create access restrictions.
“When should we arrive?” — “Please arrive at [time] for [event]. [Ceremony or programme] begins at [time]. Enter through [confirmed entrance].”
“How do we confirm attendance?” — “Please [reply method] by [date]. Let us know [individual or household names/count] and which invited events you will attend.” If using a form, ensure its actual fields support those instructions.
Templates for comfort and travel
“What should we wear?” — “[Approved dress guidance]. The event is [confirmed setting]; [practical note such as comfortable shoes for a lawn].” Avoid implying that cultural attire is compulsory unless the hosts intend that requirement.
“Is accommodation arranged?” — Choose the truthful version: “Guests should book their own accommodation; [checked information] is provided for convenience,” or “Please contact [organiser] about [confirmed host arrangement] before making a separate booking.” State payment responsibility clearly.
“Is transport provided?” — “A [confirmed transfer type] leaves [meeting point] at [time]. Contact [organiser] using [agreed method] if you need assistance.” Remove this question if no transport has been arranged.
Handle sensitive questions directly and kindly
Questions about extra guests or children need an actual host decision. A possible template is: “Please confirm attendance for the people named in your invitation. Contact [host] before adding another guest.” Do not publish an invented family policy.
For dietary or accessibility needs, explain how to contact the organiser and by when. Ask only for information needed to plan assistance; avoid a public list of guests’ personal needs. Confirm arrangements privately rather than promising that every request can be accommodated.
Review the FAQ as arrangements change
Assign a person to approve answers, check contacts have consented to publication and compare the FAQ with the schedule. If a substantive answer changes after invitations go out, tell affected guests directly. A new line on the website may not reach someone who already saved a screenshot.
Frequently asked questions
How many guest FAQs should we publish?
Publish the questions that address real uncertainties. A concise set of accurate answers is more useful than a long list containing irrelevant travel or dress questions.
Can we use these templates without editing them?
No. Replace placeholders with confirmed details, choose the answer matching your arrangements and remove unsupported statements before publication.
Should FAQs contain private guest information?
No. Describe the general process and share individual arrangements privately. Publish host contact details only with the person’s agreement.
