Wedding Event Time Changed: A Clear Update Message
A timing correction should lead with the event and new time, then say whether the venue has changed. Guests should understand the update without comparing two decorative invitation cards.
Confirm the change first
Have the host and venue verify the new arrival time, ceremony time and date. A later ceremony does not always mean a later shuttle departure. Decide which related arrangements change before sending a family-wide message.
Use a compact update
“Timing update for [event] on [date]: please arrive at [new arrival time]; the ceremony begins at [new start time]. The venue remains [venue name]. Our invitation page now shows the updated schedule: [link]. Please use this timing instead of the earlier card.” If the venue also changes, state the new address explicitly.
Reach the affected guests
Update the website, RSVP confirmation text and any downloadable schedule. Send the correction directly to invited households, especially those who rely on printed cards. Ask relatives to acknowledge guests who need a phone call. Leave a visible update note long enough for people returning to the page to notice what changed.
