How to Share a Wedding Venue Location on WhatsApp
Put a checked map link in the text message beside the invitation, labelled with the event and venue. Add a readable address and any important entrance information. Do not rely on a pin pictured inside a card or video as the only way to get directions.

Check the venue rather than trusting the name
Open the proposed destination and confirm its address with the venue or someone who knows the location. Similar business names, multiple branches and large properties can point guests to the wrong place.
For a hotel, resort or wedding lawn, confirm the guest entrance and event area. If the map points to the property rather than the correct gate, explain the final approach in plain text.
Label the link and retain the address
Fictional example with placeholders: ‘Reception: [venue name], [full address]. Directions: [checked map link]. Please use [confirmed entrance]; [verified landmark or parking instruction].’ Include only information the venue has confirmed.
Keep the venue name and address in the invitation too. Guests may need to tell a driver the location or ask for help when the map cannot be opened.
Test as a recipient
Ask a willing recipient to open the shared link and confirm the destination shown. Check each venue separately when events take place at different locations.

Can we put a map link only inside the video?
A written address or link drawn into a video is not automatically clickable. Repeat the checked link in the accompanying message.
Should we send live location?
Use a checked venue destination for the planned event. A moving personal location is not a substitute for the venue address.
