Can Bride and Groom Families Use Different Invitations?
The two families can choose different invitation wording or event lists when their guests need different information. Plan the versions together so shared ceremonies keep the same confirmed date, time and venue.

Separate what changes from what stays shared
The host line, name order, language and family-specific ceremonies may differ. The details of a shared reception should agree in both versions unless there is a deliberate guest instruction difference.
Create a simple comparison sheet with one column per version. Mark shared details once in a master event list, then record which version includes each event.
Prevent accidental invitations to restricted events
When a ceremony is intended for a smaller group, check the entire guest journey. A family-specific file can still link to a shared page that lists all events. Confirm what a guest can see before distributing the link.
- Label each working version clearly, such as “bride family” and “groom family”.
- Give the coordinator the correct guest group for each version.
- Test links from each file and message.
- Keep guest-facing wording clear about the events included.
Approve and distribute each version deliberately
Ask each family to approve its host wording, then have one coordinator compare the shared facts. Keep the final file or link names distinct so someone does not forward an older or wrong-side version.
If you want separate website versions, ask the team how that will be handled and what the scope includes. A sample’s bride/groom presentation option does not by itself establish a private guest-list system.
Frequently asked questions
Must both versions use the same design?
No. A coordinated colour or motif can connect them, but families can choose different designs. Accurate shared information matters more than identical artwork.
Can the couple’s name order change?
Yes, if that is the approved family preference. Check the order consistently across each version’s cover, body and sharing message.
Can we assume a separate link hides other events?
No. Open the actual guest-facing link and check what it displays. Ask about access or event visibility if you need restricted information.
