Which Photos to Choose for Your Wedding Website
Choose clear images that you are comfortable publishing and that fit the layout you want. A small, deliberate selection is easier to brief than a large folder with no explanation of which photo belongs where.

Choose a cover image that survives cropping
Look for a photograph where both faces remain visible if the image is cropped to a narrow phone screen. Leave some space around the couple; a tightly cropped face may be cut off when placed behind a heading.
If you like a close portrait but it does not fit the cover, suggest it for a separate photo section instead. Ask to review the actual crop rather than judging only the original photograph.
Provide original files and placement notes
Use original image files when available. Screenshots, collages and repeatedly forwarded copies can lose detail, and a designer cannot recover what is missing from the file.
- Label your preferred cover or centre image.
- Identify any photo that should only be used as a reference.
- Mention whether a background or person should stay within the crop.
- Check the current form’s file instructions before uploading.
Review privacy and visual consistency
Choose photos the people pictured have agreed can appear on the invitation website. Leave out private documents, visible addresses and images that reveal personal information unrelated to the celebration.
Try to keep the selection reasonably consistent in colour and lighting. After the photos appear in a draft, check face visibility, sharpness and text contrast on a phone. If you restore an unfinished brief, review the photo area: the form’s partial-restore message says uploaded photos may need to be added again.
Frequently asked questions
Can we use casual phone photos?
Yes, if they are clear, permitted for publication and fit the intended crop. Review the result at its actual display size before approving it.
Should every uploaded photo appear on the website?
Explain whether each file is for publication or only a style reference. Uploading a reference should not leave the intended use ambiguous.
Can we send a collage instead of individual images?
A collage can explain a visual idea, but separate original images give more flexibility for cropping and layout. Follow the chosen form’s upload instructions.
