Should You Send a PDF, Video or Wedding Website Link?
Send a PDF when guests need a formal document they can keep, a video when the announcement benefits from music and motion, or a website link when guests need an organised collection of information. If you combine formats, give each one a clear job.

A PDF keeps the invitation together
A PDF can hold host wording and separate event pages in one document. Check page order, text size and whether any links work in the viewer your test guest uses.
Once sent, an old PDF can remain in a guest's chat. If details change, send a clearly labelled correction; do not assume replacing your own copy updates theirs.
A video introduces the celebration
A video can show photographs, music and a sequence of events. Guests may watch without sound or save it for later, so it needs readable information scenes and an accompanying text summary.
A web address drawn into the video is not the same as a clickable link. Put directions or the wedding website in the message where guests can use them.
A website organises the fuller plan
A website can give the schedule and directions more room. Check the actual page on mobile, including any form, before sending its link. Treat editability or RSVP as features to verify in the selected invitation, not automatic properties of every website.
For guests who cannot conveniently open it, offer a concise alternative. Choose one primary destination and explain any supporting attachment: for example, ‘Invitation video attached; schedule and directions: [wedding website link].’ This is fictional wording with a placeholder.
Frequently asked questions
Should we send all three at once?
Only if guests need each one. Label their roles; otherwise choose a main format and add the other information only when useful.
What if some guests prefer a formal card?
Send a PDF or image version with the same approved details. Consistency matters more than forcing one format on everyone.
Does a website mean we can skip the date in the message?
Include the date and event in the message anyway. It gives guests immediate context and makes the invitation easier to find again.
